Marshall - Ben Delp, 76, died unexpectedly at 12:15 p.m. Friday, Sept 10 at his home in Marshall. Born March 8, 1895, in Sugar Creek Township, Parke County, he was the son of Marion and Jane Myers Delp. He was married to Martha Edwards on Oct 16, 1923. He was a retired meat cutter and had been employed at Turkey Run State Park for 47 years. A veteran of WWI, he was a member of the WWI Veterans Orgnization at Rockville. He attended the Marshall Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow; 3 brothers, Arbie of Veedersburg; Lon of Kingman and Vernon, Marshall Rt 1; two sisters, Mrs. Stella Staggs of Waveland and Mrs. David Polacheck of Indianapolis; four nieces; four nephews and several great nieces and great nephews. Services were at 4 p.m Sunday at Davies-Turdo Funeral Home with Rev. Merle Sparger officiating. Burial in Poplar Grove Cemetery.
